About the event

Join us on the national Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives (MMIR) Day of Awareness on May 5. This event seeks to create sacred space through community gathering, knowledge sharing, song, and prayer to transform our collective grief into strength, hope, and action.

The event will be held at Warm Springs Park in Salt Lake City, Utah. Within the park are 2 warm natural springs that were traditionally used for ceremonial and social purposes by the indigenous people of Utah prior to forced displacement. Today, these springs are still active.

The IHAWC MMIR Healing & Prayer Event Planning Committee invites all to attend as we offer song and prayer to those we have lost — assisting them on their journey home. These traditional healing practices will also be offered to those that continue to fight against the violence that threatens our people.
